After weeks of Design Studio module, I have decided to add designs in my portfolio. It is all Juraimi’s fault, my facilitator. He made design so fun to do, and with all his stressful and heart-wrenching assignments, he turned me into someone that loves to do design.
And that makes me have no time to do films! So, I guess I not only a filmmaker but now, Im an Artist.

Another commercial that I made, this time about gambling. I wanted to show how gambling can make someone start to lose everything. It starts with objects on the table. One by one, the object is taken away by the gambler to be sold. In the end, he had nothing left but saw his wedding ring. He was so desperate that he decided to sell that ring. Which shows that even marriage is not important to him. This is how dangerous gambling can be.

A short commercial, which I intend to show that family is where nobody gets forgotten. I used memo pad as the main focus of every shot. You know how they used those pads to write down all those important things like meetings and appointments? Well, that is how I show the high importance of family. Also, I applied what I learnt in Photography like the Rules of Third. I used it in every shot, as I want the audience to see the shot as a whole. Which is the memo pad and also the background. The background is people walking past. I used Time Lapse to show that people are too busy to remember things about their family.
This video is inspired by my dear Mother. She always remember things about her family. She always wished everyone on their birthday without fail. She definitely know what is Family. -
An experimental film. It shows a small yellow ball exploring the neighbourhood, until it went back home. The message that I want to bring across is, no matter wherever you have been, Rome, Paris or some other magnificent places. The best place is still home.

TurnOver is about Issa going for a job interview in Amos’s Design company. He accepted her as a worker but he has a hidden agenda. A comical story that will brighten up your day. =)
An assignment for my Production Practicum module. We have to come out with our own story and shoot it during the holidays. My team managed to finish the shoot in just two days, as we are all cooperative and had no problems in working together. -
An assignment for my Expression of Form module. It has to show movement, so I came out with this stop motion. Besides showing movement, I also included a storyline.

Anak Singa’s first production. It is also our first time entering a national competition. We won the 3rd prize for the National Day Film Competition, winning $1000 and also get to reshoot it with professional help.
The video is about how the pledge contribute to the development in Singapore. A local director, said that it is simple and yet the message is sent out clearly. That is good. =) -
A film that shows how wonders can happen at any part of life. It is when you wanted to give up in life, that is when you should trust life a little more because somewhere something increadible is waiting to be known.
My first film, my first time making one and also my first time entering a school competition. I am proud with this film, as I was the only Year 1 and had no experience in making a video. And when my film was called, I was shocked and was really happy inside. I won 3rd in the RP playnow competition. =) -
Fiq: Storyteller
My name is Syafiq Noridan. I am currently taking diploma in New Media at Republic Polytechnic.
My interest lies in filming. I like to direct and also produce films which contains messages. Basically I like telling stories which I think is a very useful and effective way to reach out to people.
I have been watching movies and television all my life. I can learn some things in life from what I watched. But it is not that that influenced to pursue a career in filming. No one in the film industry influences me to pursue a career in filming.
My ambition is to be someone famous where I can be every little children’s favourite hero and I want to have the power to change people. Therefore, I feel that I can write stories, let people watch and reach out to them. I used to write things in my handphone and I can actually turn it into film.
I found films and shows on television can actually reach out to people and change them. That is why I want to pursue a career in film industry, and make my dream come true.
In the film industry, I would like to take the role as a director and a writer. I get to write the story and decide what the actors and actresses will say. These are important in order to reach out to the audience. What they say will have great effect on what the audience think. As a director, I will decide how the story will go, visually. I will need to have great imagination and also know how to make the effect much greater.
